Day 1 - Seal Beach NWR to Sacramento NWR

The men of the Centennial Caravan woke up today on Bachelors Island Unit of the Ridgefield NWR where we camped out at the maintenance shed, the women stayed in various homes of the Friends of the Ridgefield NWR. As the fog lifted over the Columbia River a flight of 45 Sandhill Cranes migrating north, then about 500 cackling Canada Geese took off and followed them, we headed into town and met up with the women at the Ridgefield Community Center.

We again spent the night at Ridgefield, the Caravan ladies had such lovely accommodations at the homes of Alene Wodaege, Ellen Rogers and Wim Geurden Ridgefield NWR was a wonderful adventure..
