The day was spent traveling through rain and mist through
High Desert habitat characterized by bunch grass hillsides interspersed with fir forests at the higher elevations.

Under low scudding skies that blew up the Columbia River, we bundled
up and took a walk, many waterfowl were seen from the observation platform.
