The pelican Van went on a drive-about ....

...with the Blue Goose spreading the Centennial message

By this time Lori, Patti and Doris had us organized and the displays

went up in short order

The Friends of the Dunes had tables with information about native plants

The Dunes Mobile

These folks love the Snowy Plovers, Least Terns and other denizens of the dunes.

Kids learned about Sand Dunes...

... and had many questions.

The Blue Goose was popular with kids of all ages, John Wilks channeled the spirit of the Blue Goose with élan and grace.

One real plus of this expedition was meeting folks along the Caravan Route that share our vision and hopes for the next Century of Conservation, we hope it will be a Century of Restoration

The dunes are windswept and in constant motion

The Friends of the Dunes were in evidence everywhere and were

instrumental in the planning and creation of the refuge.

Wear goggles when you visit the dunes, the wind blown sand goes everywhere; found sand in my pockets after visiting the spot for only 30 minutes.

The edges of the dunes were fringed with wildflowers...

and more wildflowers....

beauty is everywhere...
